AMANDA'S HOLLYWOOD

A_Holley81@yahoo.com

Amanda Holley is only 24, but she's
a big fan of the site who currently lives in the Hollywood area
and is walking around on the hallowed ground following in our
footsteps. I've asked her to be the official mascot for the site.

What does that mean? I'm not sure myself. That's entirely up to
Amanda. She's beautiful, enterprising, witty, and waving the
old sixties flag in our honor. She can do anything she wants, but I suspect it will be updates on what's going on, who is around, and what they are still saying about us, and photos.

         In Amanda's words....

My name is Amanda. I grew up in Central California and moved to the bright lights of Hollywood, probably for the same reason you did.
Consider me the new generation of Hollywood, although I'm only 22, I think most would agree...I'm an old soul! I grew up listening to the melodic tunes that most of you listen to, Led Zep, the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and The Rolling Stones, just to name a few. I was so inspired by the stories and legends about the music that surrounded this town, that as soon as I got here I headed right for the Sunset Strip! From then on, I made it a goal to visit all the rock n roll clubs my dad, and other's from his 60's generation still talk about today. I'm very nostalgic and I love all the culture and history that besets this small town and it's hills! From The Whisky a Go-Go, to Lookout Mountain I have enjoyed everyday here, but like many young adults my age, I wouldn't have a clue about any of these places if it weren't for everyone's stories. I learn about different places everyday, and I just have to check them out, so I strongly encourage you to share and information you have!
Like Nancy, I hope to write a book someday about my experiences in Hollywood, and hopefully inspire someone else to try there luck in this amazing town.
So consider me your liaison between you and Hollywood! I would love to hear your stories and experiences, please fell free to e-mail me anytime, and I'll be sure to keep everyone informed about all the happenings around here and what I'm getting myself into next! I'm always doing something!

XOXO
Amanda

Greetings from Hollyweird! boy has that term come to prove itself lately...!
So much has gone on since I last poked my head in to say hello! Hollywood is treating me well. I've been searching for a new job since i was layed off of my previous one. No matter how tough times get, I'm still in Hollywood having the time of my LIFE!

I've taken in a few concerts in Hollywood, Silverlake and Los Feliz, great cities with great local bands! The Mod scene is strong as well as the late 70's glam scene, and the influence can be heard through every tune played by the local hopefuls; everything from Zeppelin to Bowie can be recognized in each band's sound, so much that it almost bridges the gap in the generations!

I recently took a drive up to Laurel Canyon. With the War going on and the election, there are lots of random peace signs and such scattered along the drive., There is still a real 60's influence in this town, and I'm so happy to be able to see it for myself.

Other than that I've been in school in Santa Monica having a swell time there (as good as can be expected in class anyway)

Well, I'm off onto the Sunset ((strip))... XOXO for now!
